The ALERRT AAIR course is designed to improve integration between law enforcement, fire, telecommunication, and EMS in active attack/shooter events. The course provides law enforcement officers with key medical skills based on tactical emergency casualty care guidelines, which can be used at the point of injury to increase the survivability of victims.
The course also provides a model framework for law enforcement, fire, and EMS to integrate responses during an active attack/shooter event through the rescue task force concept.
This course has been designed to improve the safety and survivability of victims of active attack/shooter events and increases the effectiveness, coordination, and resource integration between law enforcement, fire, telecommunications, and EMS when responding to these events.

There is no charge to officers or agencies for the AAIR Train-the-Trainer five-day (40 hours) or the AAIR two-day (16 hours). This training is funded by the U.S. DHS Homeland Security Grant Program and is supported by South Central Task Force.
Class Size: 18 students max
Prerequisite: Participants must be state-certified law enforcement, fire, telecommunicator, or EMS providers. EMS providers should be certified at or above the EMT level certified. Participants should have completed IS-100, ICS-200, and IS-700.
